Sony's PlayStation 3 sucks donkey dong for 10 reasons:
1. $600 for the only acceptable version.
2. The $500 version sucks ass. It lacks HDMI, Wi-Fi and memory stick slots.
3. Only rich assholes own huge, 1080p, HDMI HDTVs, so PS3 sucks even more if you're broke.
4. Controllers are horrible. They're similar to PSX controllers, meaning they're uncomfortable. Sony stole Nintendo's ideas, and executed them horribly, with new tilt sensing capabilities. Oh yeah, they removed the rumble feature. Enjoy.
5. A team of comatose orangutans designed the case, because not even a drunken retard would copy the George Forman grill.
6. Blu-Ray is worthless unless you're one of those rich assholes. If you need over 18gb (two-sided, double-layer DVD) per game, jump off a cliff. If you own a huge, expensive TV set, congratulations on your shallow obsession with pretty pictures!
7, New games will probably cost $60+, because of skyrocketing development costs. Video games are meant to be fun, not financially crippling. Are slightly nicer graphics worth the price?
8. Sony has failed to offer any compelling reasons why PS3 is better than Xbox 360, especially when you compare the prices of each.
9. PS3 simply can't compete with Wii's exciting new approach. Any monkey could understand why Wii's controller has the potential to improve games of all genre. Especially first person shooters, and that's a biggy.
10. Don't forget, you will be able to buy both an Xbox 360 and Wii for about the same price as PS3. I suppose rich assholes don't care, but Sony doesn't seem to understand that those people are very few in number.

I agree mostly (you can add to #2 that the $500 ps3 lacks wireless controler compatability)...however not all rich people are snobs (granted many are). Yes, I've seen conflicting information on whether or not the cheap version supports wireless controllers, so I'm not commenting on that until I'm sure. You make an excellent point about the games. That's why I fully back Wii.
Wii are getting a Wii too. Nintendo is going for the-other-console-in-your-living-room market, but i think that with a low enough price tag many more people are going to have one than 360 or ps3.
The problem is, I don't think many people can justify the cost of PS3 when they realize that they can own both Wii and Xbox 360 for the price of PS3.

I'm getting a Wii. I find no improvement in the transition from a PS2 to a PS3 - I don't even own a PS2. I'm a Gamecube kind of guy, and us Gamecubers will have a hell of a treat waiting for us.

...I have a 360...and I'm getting a wii...but...I am buying a $600 PS3 on launch day because it is going to be the best multi-purpose-multimedia device ever created. I own a 42-inch HDTV...I spent over $3000 buying my PC piece by piece so it'd be exactly how I want...but I am not rich. I have a part-time job and make a little over $7 an hour. The PS3 is far more than JUST a video game system.
$600 for a PS1, PS2, and PS3 game player, audio CD player (including burned and RW's), same for DVD's, and Blu-Ray DVD out of the box. Wi-Fi and bluetooth controllers with FREE ONLINE play for all its games that you get to see on 1080p output when you get your hands on a HDMI setup.
$400 for a 360 that can currently play about 1/4 of the old Xbox games. Another $100 if you want wi-fi. Then another $100-200 for a seperate HD-DVD drive. Don't forget to fork out a minimum of $50 a year for online "privilages" putting you at just the same amount of money one would spend on getting a PS3 up and running (at least for the first year until Gates grabs another $50 from ya).
I will not talk any shit about the wii because it is full of potential and great ideas as long as it's used better than the gamecube and is properly supported.
Also, I'm just pissed at microsoft for completely ditching the Xbox and leaving it in the dust. What a bunch of scumbags. They are, pretty much, forcing their fans to buy the 360 by the end of this year or they will get no more support. Madden '08 isn't even going to be on Xbox. Meanwhile Gamecube is going to be pretty much ditched as well but with much better reason...nobody cares about the poor cube. Sony on the other hand, is looking to make this year and next year the best years the PS2 has ever had with tons of great new games, 1st party and 3rd. Let God of War II lead the way.

Graphics are talked about to much, and are not nearly as important many people believe. If a game was produced with a boring story, laggy controls, poor audio, but with absolutely beautiful graphics, would you buy it. Is it worth the $60? No, it's not.

Having only a limited bank account, i wanted a good, solid console with a large library of fun games and a decent frikkin' controller. I don't think that's so outlandish, do you? I settled on a premium 360, and spent the last of my cash on Dead Rising, Gears and Prey, as well as Halo used. Now, i could've bought a PS3, but from what i've seen on store shelves, there seem to be about 4 decent games out for the whole platform at the moment. I also could've gotten a Wii, but the control system seems, well, gimmicky. (although i may end up hocking my PSP and picking one up, if only for Zelda)
What gets me is how you people are bitching about so many other things besides the topic at hand. It comes to power and cost.
1)PS3 has an inferior graphics processor to the Xbox360
2)PS3's Cell processor cannot be reformed to be useful for game development it is JUST not possible. IT is a processor best suited for SERVER SOLUTIONS. the Xbox360's 3 Cores is better than 1 core with 7 SPE's that are useless for anything than Floating point calculations (This is what Graphics cards are for). The CELL CPU will not make the games LOOK better. No matter how wonderful it is at folding.
so in conclusion with a PS3 console you are paying $600 for a machine with substantially less graphical ability than a $300 console. Ouch.
To those PS3 owners take a look at ALL of your game and notice that none of them have any ANTI ALIASING. the Console requires 30% of its power to produce great graphics at HD resolutions while the 360 has almost no penalties at ANY resolution. Due to the poor design of the PS3 its not efficient compaired to the Xbox360. the 360 is more of a console than the PS3 for it utilizes Unified architecture to the fullest. the PS3 is more of a PC than an Xbox360 wich is ironic because a lot of Sony faboys call the Xbox360 a PC with out realizing the hypocricy of those words.
But the main thing is that the queen is ok....
To me it doesn't have to do with rich or poor, it has to do with preference. At this point the PS3 isn't doing that well, as most people know, and that suits the Xbox fans just fine because for some reason they think that they will capitalize (not sure how) on the death of the Sony Playstation. And vice verse, PS fans are kind of in the toilets with such a mediocre assortment of games to chose from.
In all honesty, it's going to take a lot more than just a lousy start to make Sony drop out of the console race. If you were to go to Japan, you would see an entirely different universe of gameplaying. In Japan the PS3 thrives and the Xbox does not. Opposite in the US, Xbox is doing well while PS3 is not. Notice any trends about this type of race? It's like a dick size contest. Even though Paul might have a massive Johnson and Peter may have a stump, some girl is still going to want to fuck lil' Peter. It's always been this way and it always will. Deal with it.

I think people are really hard on the PS3 but they are forgetting that it is still year 1 for the PS3. The Xbox360 has a full year of games on the PS3, and yeah the PS3 is ramping up AAA development and signing exclusives. The 2nd year is really the make or break year.
As a Wii and PS3 owner, I am happy with both of my pruchases. Like several posters have pointed out, its about the games, and your experience with a console that really matters. Your blatant fanboyism is sad, just play the games and stop proselytizing.

Well it is 12.13.07 and a new cheaper 40GB PS3 has made it to the stores. The new version is undeniably a better option for us that could not justify paying 5 to 600 US dollars for a PS3. I do not understand why you were so pissed off with the PS3. It sounds as though you were bitter because you could not afford one and a lot of your reasons just did not make any sense. A good majority of people that complained about the PS3 being a crappy machine will realize that the PS3 is an awesome console that has all the new features that people want from their console. Just look at the Best Buy website. Many XBox 360 owners are purchasing the HD Drives for the higher definition. Besides XBox 360 owners that have already purchased these HD drives plus the XBox live fee have already spent more money than the cost of a PS3 40GB that comes with a blue-ray player built in and free on-line subscription for online gaming. If you do not own a high definition TV set you will most likely get one in the future, and guess what the PS3 is ready for it.

If I had a choice, I would definatley get a Wii because of my Nintendo background and preferal of "lighter" games, but Xbox 360 is definately the best system available. Now if only they could make something other than Halo, racing, and football games... On second thought, Wii has the best games, most of them Miyamoto titles; but the other games are fine as well. I can't think of one game that would make me buy a PS3

Personaly, I find that the ps3's graphics are amazing, mind blowing even. Although they don't compare to what crysis has to offer they are still visualy appealing. Oh and ps3 has built in bluray, xbox 360 you have to buy the hd dvd player which won't have any new movies in a year because all the movie publishers are moving to blu ray, why do you think hd dvd players are only like 150$ right now. Oh I forgot the xbox is actualy more expensive than the 80gb ps3 when you factor in that you need the 60$ controler 50$ a year for live, oh and the 40$ you'll need to pay to get a REFURBISHED xbox after it overheats melts your game the blows up in your face. Also sure the ps3 has a small library but who needs 50 games for it. As you might have udnerstood the Cell is built on hype, massive hype. This from both Sony and loyal or rather blinded PS3 game devs. nAo for example is an example of a Cell/PS3 developer that talks rubbish about competitors and praise the Cell. Little has any footground in reality but they wont accept it.
It has its strengths but in and overall it fails flatout even against a dual core CPU of OOOE nature. That in many tasks as shown in scientific and correct non pr payed and published reports.

It is also widely known of the lack of punch the RSX presents. The Cell gets tasked to back it up to present competitive graphic against the xbox 360 yet neither one holds a candle againstthe PC.
As been shown and established in correct tests PS3 games especially multiplatform ones has lower native resolution thanthe competition.
In this we include lower framerate and often lack of anti aliasing. Sound quality is another part but here both consoles perform bad with the PS3 having the upper hand. Tests do though show that a soundcard like teh 6 year old Audigy has much better fidelity, wuality and noise free sound.
As shown in non pr sponsored and non Sony prepared tests is that a PC provides superior playback quality and sound for movies of all types including upscaling quality.

Okay, this is stupid, all three systems have their good points, and where I live the PS3 is selling great I know people who dumped their PS3 for a 360 and vice versa, my girlfriend has a Wii but she's buying a PS3 merely because it's the largest game system where i live.I'm not rich but I've got a PS3 and Wii and I play 360 alot as well, sure 360 has exclusive games, all systems do and they kick ass (except Halo 3 lol) exclusive games are just a way for all these money-hungry companies to get people to spend money, what i would like to see is some merging so no one has to spend $2,000 if they want all the exclusive games
I read a news story a while back that ties into the whole stealing controller ideas comments on this. The company who designed the Xbox 360 controller (Microsoft did not design it themselfs) filled a law suit against Nintendo over their Wii controller. Why? because apparently Nintendo ripped it off from them. They designed almost an exactly identical device in like 2003 to wirelessly control PCs with oversized monitors from accrossed the room.
I like xbox 360 better because of better online, a better controller, and a less expensive system plus less expensive games.
And also I really give a crap about blu-ray beacause paying 10-15$ more is not worth it for slightly better graphics.

get the maximum capibility before it blows up. the ps3 is the only next gen console, game developers make their games in blu-ray first and then they dumb it down for the 360.. so you should look into your case a bit more. also they have dualshock 3 rumble feature controllers so they do have the rumble feature so you cant say they dont. the reason that the system is so big is because of the hardware that is inside of it. and it is nothing like the George Foreman Grill you fucking prick,do you own a george forman?? probably not because if you waste your life writing bull like this, you must be some poor asshole that cant afford a george foreman... i rest my case. the PS3 is actually the best system on the market. so fuck you and quit posting your bullshit.

6. blue ray actually isnt a piece of crap because it also plays dvds and hd dvds. does hd dvd players play dvds? i dont know, i bet they do though... but they dont have pop up menu during movies. and blu rays can connect online, and blu rays can update firmware of DISKS BITCH!

The Xbox 360 is better looking when it comes to games and has more killer titles howver thats not to say that PS3 wont come good in the end, i have a 1080p capable TV and the xbox looks sublime. As for Blu ray i see no need to switch to blu ray for films as DVD's are fine i see nothing wrong with them. As for the look of games as i said the xbox wins The Xenos GPU on the XBOX 360 is superior to the RSX on the PS3.
Xenos simply has more power - higher fillrate, higher pixel processing power, higher vertex processing power, and better memory architecture. If you look at multiplatform games and contrast the graphics on the two consoles, XBOX 360 almost always leads. Whether they use a higher resolution or higher quality antialiasing, games often look better and/or play smoother on the 360 i dont know. the XBOX is the best gaming package i feel.

hahaha! i am well off financially, but you know why? because im not a dumb fuck who spends 660$ on a videogame system. I am 6'6" 270 lbs, my hands are huge, i cant use the dinky faggety little controllers that the PS3 has, even the wii is useable for me(controller wise) i like my halo and my gears of war and cod4, why would i spend like 200 more dollars on a stupid george foreman grill shaped pos? i liked the ps2 it had tons of quality games and it was affordable... i even likde the psp, but the ps3 is a joke. I just cant compare to the 360 or wii. i think you should take your anger out on the monatarily irresponsible rather than the rich.
